Shipping

Q. How long will it take to receive my order and how is it delivered?
A.
It takes approximately 5-7 days to process your initial order. Refills are processed quicker. The amount of time in transit depends entirely on Canada Post and the US Postal services, which handles all deliveries. While we can estimate 1-9 business days for delivery inside the United States, we cannot give a guarantee to that effect. You can go online to the Canada Post website (http://www.canadapost.ca) and the U.S. Postal website (http://www.usps.com) to track your package. It is wise to reorder your mail order refills, 30 days in advance.

Q. How is my order packaged?
A. The containers used for prescription drugs are identical world-wide. Our pharmacy protectively wraps, boxes, and insulates for shipping. Almost 90% of all medications are shipped in the original sealed packaging received from the manufacturer.

Q. How much do you charge for shipping?
A.
Any order containing a prescription item is charged a shipping fee of $14.95 USD. You are charged one shipping fee per parcel, not per prescription. If all your prescriptions fit into one parcel, you will be charged only one shipping fee.

Generics

Q. What are generic drugs?
A.
"A generic drug is identical, or the bioequivalent to a brand name drug in dosage form, safety, strength, route of administration, quality, performance characteristics, and intended use. Although generic drugs are chemically identical to their branded counterparts, they are typically sold at substantial discounts from the branded price.

Q. Are generic drugs safe?
A. Absolutely, U.S and Canadian generics are just as safe and effective as name brand medications. All medications are very closely monitored by both governments, which insures their safety and quality.

Q. Why are generic drugs cheaper?
A.
They're less expensive because of the patent system. When they are first introduced, most new drugs are patent-protected by the government for 17 years. During that time, other companies can't sell the drug. This allows the company that developed the drug to market it exclusively and make back the research money that was spent to develop it. When the patent runs out, drug companies can apply to the Food and Drug Administration to sell generic versions of the drug. And because they don't have to worry about investment costs, the competing companies can often sell the drug for 50 percent to 80 percent less than the cost of the brand name.

Safety

Q. Is there a difference between American and Canadian medication?
A. Your major pharmaceutical companies produce most medications that are acquired by American and Canadian pharmacies. Most pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities are set up outside the U.S. to reduce labor costs, and yet, the consumer price of these medications will differ greatly from country to country.

Q. Are the drugs you carry the same quality as the drugs that I buy in the U.S.?
A. Yes. There is no difference in quality between U.S., Canadian and European medications. The U.S., Canada, and European governments all have very similar requirements and enforce stringent oversight and maintain high standards coupled with a rigorous approval system for the manufacturing of medication.

Q. Is it possible that the pills I received through the mail have a different name or look different than the pills I have obtained locally in the U.S.?
A. Many times a brand name medication sold in the U.S. is manufactured under a different name for countries outside the U.S. They may look identical, but not always. The manufacturers themselves determine the name shape, and color of the medication and that will change for different markets. It is also possible that the generic supplied is by a different manufacturer then you have used in the past.

Q. Is mail-order prescription service safe?
A. The GAO (General Accounting Office), a department of the U.S. Federal Government released a report in July 2004, which acknowledges the safety of the Canadian drug supply chain and noted that in some cases, the Canadian system was more effective in comparison to the U.S. system. This report is available online at “In the News” website.

Q. Is this legal?
A. Our Canadian pharmacy operates strictly in accordance with Canadian Law. The U.S. FDA, while not endorsing the purchase of prescription drugs from Canada, does not stop the importations of personal use prescriptions as long as the drugs are delivered to the client’s place of residence and that no more than a 90-day supply is provided.
